Our Story

Locally grown and Consciously sourced flowers

The Future of Flowers is Local and Plastic-Free.

Welcome to TLG!

We’re an independent flower shop nestled in the heart of Belmont, NSW, and we’re oh so glad you’re here!

At The Little Garden, we understand flowers are more than just stems—they’re storytellers. They capture memories, express emotions beyond words, and remind us to pause for life’s quietest and brightest moments. Every arrangement we design is lovingly woven using fresh, seasonal flowers sourced from local farms we know and trust. No two bunches are ever the same, and that’s exactly how we love it.
The Little Garden is rooted in sustainability. We are committed to reducing waste and supporting a slower, more thoughtful way of doing business. We tread lightly on the earth by only choosing flowers that are grown locally, free from harsh chemicals and dyes, and guided by the seasons —just beautiful, natural flowers grown right here in Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Valley, the Central Coast, Sydney, and the Southern Highlands. We are proudly plastic-free, with all our packing materials being biodegradable, compostable, recyclable or reused. You won’t find dyed plastic wraps, balloons, teddy bears or floral foam here. Instead, we let the flowers speak for themselves, allowing their natural beauty and simplicity shine. Step inside our shop, and you will find more than just flowers. We have curated a little collection of things that spark joy: handmade ceramics, Australian soy candles, unique vintage vases, local art, indoor plants, fair-trade chocolates, local honey, and natural dried arrangements that last. Every item is sourced with care, celebrating local creators and sustainable living. It’s a cosy corner that’s full of heart, and we hope you feel right at home when you walk through our door.
Whether it’s a wedding, a celebration of life, a special occasion, or a quiet gesture of love, we specialise in creating meaningful designs that bring your vision to life. We work closely with you to craft something personal, natural, and full of feeling – because every occasion deserves flowers that speak from the heart.
We deliver across Eastern Lake Macquarie, making it easy to send a thoughtful surprise to that special someone. To see what we’ve been working on, pop over to our Instagram @the_little_gardenau or follow us on Facebook at The Little Garden Florist.
Thanks for stopping by and for supporting local, seasonal and sustainable floristry. We can’t wait to create something beautiful for you.

I popped in here on my way to Newcastle from Sydney. The shop was beautiful with lots of amazing flowers inside and the ladies in store told me they use only locally grown flowers and recyclable materials. The ladies were so lovely and helpful with what I needed and with what my budget was. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I’ve been to The Little Garden multiple times, and they’ve consistently been friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. My visit today was no different. I asked for a medium-sized bouquet for my partner and a small one for my 2-year-old daughter (which, they were flexible on for size and price). With just a few suggestions from me, they created two beautiful, thoughtfully arranged bouquets in under 10 minutes.

Their team is accommodating and warm and the creativity they bring to their arrangements are always impressive. I’ll definitely continue to visit The Little Garden for my floral needs and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional service and stunning flowers.

By far the most beautiful and endorphin inducing flower arrangements I have ever encountered (and I’m a bit of a flower connoisseur!).

I’ve been a huge fan of the Little Garden for several years and it’s the only florist in Newcastle that I wholeheartedly recommend again and again.

We buy regular bunches of flowers for clients and our home office from The little garden. This florist has to be the best in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. The bunches always smell amazing and last for over 2 weeks. The ladies always have a smile on their faces and are so warm and kind.
